Product Review For Save On Airfares 'Secrets' 2008

“Save On Airfare Secrets” is an amazing online resource that is a must have for every traveller out there today. This amazing little ebook is packed full of tips, tricks and strategies that you can use to save money on your airfares, no matter where or when you must travel.

Being an emerging travel writer and also somebody who enjoys travelling just to get away and explore our gorgeous world, my interest in this book when I first came across it, was intense to say the least. When I started to read through the sales page for this guide, I began to feel a little sceptical, as most of us do, at the out of this world claims being made on the pitch page. However, I was intrigued and so kept reading to find out more.

To start with, the author, named Tony Morrison, introduces himself by telling us his story. Tony says that he was an ex travel agent for one of the major airlines, who terminated his position for reasons that Tony did not agree with. Because of this event, Tony then went on to write this amazing little traveller’s guide, jam packed, full of the airline’s most tightly guarded insider secrets that can help travellers gain huge discounts, and even free flights. This was his revenge, as he states on his sales page.

After reading half way through his sales page, I began to start questioning again about the validity of his claims, surely someone in high places would take every action possible to stop this sort of information escaping, and other such questions, and sure enough, they did. There have been a number of threats given to Tony, as he relates both on his sales page and also in his guide. Even with the few sceptical questions I had in my mind, my curiosity was still firing and I kept reading through the information about Tony’s guide.

After reading further through the sales page and coming to the order button and the price $$$, I was certain that this guide would hold some information that would be worth knowing, and having 3 justifications for buying it, I put my order in and spent the $24 asked for. I figured that, at such a low price, I could justify my purchase by equating the chance for learning some highly valuable knowledge to the cost of 3 drinks at the nightclub on Friday night. I also justified the purchase by figuring that the information inside could also be split into sections and used as inspiration for articles that I could write and sell, hence being able to make my money back, and also finally, I justified this purchase based on the 8 week money back guarantee, with no strings attached and no questions asked. So I bought it and was shocked at what I found.

If you have ever bought a book and started reading with the intention of putting the book down after the first chapter, but at chapter six, you find you are saying to yourself again “One more chapter and then I will….”, then you already know what this guide is going to be like. Not only did I find the information inside his guide incredibly valuable, but I also found that the claim Tony made on his sales page, that what you read on the sales page only scratches the surface of what you will learn in his guide, was in fact extremely true, and that over 90% of the information provided in the guide was instantly verifiable and trustworthy. Yes I did have my doubts about one or two techniques, one of which I mention below in the Negatives section of this review.

The guide is broken down into four main and specific sections, that walk you through each of the levels of information in the guide. You start at the first section, being Basic Tips, Tricks and Strategies, before moving onto the next section, on Better Tips, Tricks and Strategies. Following this are the remaining two sections, aptly named Advanced Tips, Tricks and Strategies, and finally, The Top Secrets. Of these, I had already known maybe 45% of the information in the first section, and at best maybe 10% of the remaining three sections, otherwise, the majority of the content was new to me.

Not only does Tony give you this amazing little Travel Secrets guide, named Save On Airfare Secrets, but he also includes for free, as a bonus for ordering your guide, Cruise Travel Secrets, Hotel Reservation Secrets, and also Car Rental Secrets guides. These guides are every bit as valuable and informative as his Save On Airfare Secrets guide, and reveal even more tasty insider information that you never knew existed.


POSITIVE POINTS:

There are a number of positive points to be mentioned about this informative guide, and below you will find some of the more prominent ones that stood out for me.

The most important thing that I found about this guide was that the information revealed inside it, is not only current but also testable and valuable. After doing some quick mental calculations on paper and making two phone calls to verify that the information was correct, I was able to calculate an estimated savings of up 35%. When travelling between Australia and UK, as an example I know well, the average cost comes to around $3000 without any luxuries and in economy class. Not only had I calculated a saving of up to and over, in some cases, $1000, but I had also upgraded my choice of class from economy to first class tickets.

Another very notable point that I would raise about this guide is that, unlike many other information products on the market, this guide is not another guide that holds 10% of valuable information and is packed with space filling crap for the remaining 90%, instead this is the opposite way around if anything, and in my opinion, is 10% filler to 90% Value.

The 10% that I personally speak of here is the very first introductory chapter which introduces you to the rest of the guide, which is nothing but techniques. It is a matter of personal choice, however, as some people prefer to read about the author and learn about why the book was created, and other such optional information, whereas, I prefer to jump straight into the thick of it, and so skipped the introduction chapter, to head straight into the techniques section, and then read the introduction last.

But as with any information product, or at least all of the ones I have ever dealt with, this guide also has some downsides to it as well which I have tried my best to describe here without bias.

NEGATIVES:

After considering the negatives of this guide, I was able to list the 3 most prominent points, for your consideration, here. Of course, you may have already anticipated them, however, I feel a responsibility to list them here anyway.

The first negative that I could find, which is half self obvious, but also half hidden, is the fact that a number of the techniques listed in the guide, approx 10% of them are variant specific techniques. This means that to be able to make the technique work for you, you would need to have a particular variable, for instance, you may need to be from a specific profession, or be in a particular age group, for instance. However, I was able to maximise on these by using the information on these techniques and write my own informative Niche Content for particular travel sites, that has made me many times my money back, and this is just one creative way to earn more money from this guide.

The next negative that I would mention here, is that, as stated earlier, a number of these techniques, for me the ones mainly in the Basic Tips, Tricks and Techniques section, may already be known by you. However, I am certain that there are very few people out there who know more than 50% of the information offered in this guide, and that those who do, are already industry insiders.

The last point I feel I must raise here, and one of only two techniques that I felt where stretching reality a little to suit the situation, is the technique that is mentioned on the sales page for this guide, involving an ex client of Tony’s who was able to get a $1143 ticket for the unbelievably low cost of $143 only. It is revealed in the guide that this technique was a direct result of an airline computer system glitch that occurs, at best 3 times a month, and so this sort of technique is less guaranteed to work. Although the technique is indeed, a solid technique, there are a lot of variable factors that can lead towards this technique not working for you. And so, this technique and one other, for me, have been classed as “almost filler content”.


CONCLUSION:
In conclusion to this review, and to finish the article I will give you my personal opinion on this guide and why I feel that way. After thinking about the value of the content that I gathered from the guide, I found it to be a very safe and fruitful investment. The positive points that I was able to come up with, far outweighed the few negative points that I could find, and not only that but, within 4 weeks of owning a copy of this guide, I was able to make more than 10 times it’s cost back, in savings on travel and also Niche Content Articles as mentioned above. I would happily and highly recommend this guide to anyone who is not already getting hugely discounted and free travel.
